Drunk Driving Defense

DUI Is a Serious Charge. Get Serious Legal Defense.

If you or a family member has been charged with DWI or a related drunk driving charge, there is more at stake than you may realize. Even a conviction for a first-time DUI charge can mean losing your drivers' license and paying a substantial fine. If convicted as a repeat offender, you face those penalties as well as the possibility of jail time.

Reasonable Fees - Credit Cards Accepted - Three West Metro Locations

The attorneys of Spindler & Stern have been providing effective DUI defense for drivers throughout the west metro Detroit communities since we opened our doors more than eight years ago. We work with prosecutors and judges to seek opportunities for reduced charges, and to find solutions that will help you avoid jail time and the harsh penalties that can come with a conviction.

"Michigan has standard procedures for most DWI cases. You need an attorney who will help you understand the process and fight for the best possible outcome. Our experienced lawyers know the courts and prosecutors in most west metro Detroit courts and we work hard to ensure that you are treated fairly." — Attorney Lisa D. Stern

We Challenge All Relevant Facts

Every DUI arrest is different, but they all have one thing in common: A police officer made a decision to pull you over, based on his or her personal observations. We challenge everything about your arrest, from the probable cause to making the stop, to the way the field sobriety tests were administered and the blood alcohol test results were interpreted. There are often irregularities that will lead to the prosecutor reducing or dropping DUI, also called OUI or related drunk driving charges, and we fight hard to find them.

Drivers' License Suspension

After an arrest, you will face an automatic suspension of your driver's license. You have only 14 days to schedule a hearing at the Driver Assessment and Appeal Division office to contest this suspension. We will handle everything about your Implied Consent suspension hearing, from scheduling the initial hearing to presenting initial evidence for a reduction or dismissal. Our experience makes a decisive difference.

We are ready to fight aggressively to defend you against charges of:

  • Drunk driving, DUI
  • Speeding
  • Reckless driving
  • Vehicular assault
  • Driving on suspended license
