How do I contact Spindler & Stern?
You may contact us by phone at (734) 981-7517; by mail at 2200 N. Canton Center, Suite #100B, Canton, Michigan 48187; by fax at (734) 981-7518. We also have a location serving all of Livingston County, located at 10115 Bergin Rd. Hartland, Michigan.  This office is just off M-59 and US-23.  Bergin Road is approximately 1/2 mile south off of OLD US-23.  The office is located in the Hartland Commerce Center. If you prefer, you may also E-mail the attorneys at Spindler & Stern using our Contact Form. Most cases are best initiated with an office consultation, which may be made by appointment.

Where are the Law Offices of Spindler & Stern located?
We are located at 2200 N. Canton Center Road, 2/10 of a mile South of Ford Road in the heart of Canton, Michigan. We can be reached by either I-275 or M-14 expressways.

We also have a location serving all of Livingston County, located at 10115 Bergin Rd. Hartland, Michigan.  This office is just off M-59 and US-23.  Bergin Road is approximately 1/2 mile south off of OLD US-23.  The office is located in the Hartland Commerce Center.

How can Spindler & Stern help me?
We are engaged in the general practice of law and handle all types of civil cases, including family law, personal injury, contract cases, real estate, estate planning, employment law, and probate. Also, criminal litigation, including drunk driving, but not limited to, possession of drugs, domestic violence and juvenile matters.

We can help you if:

What types of cases will Spindler & Stern handle?
  • Much of our practice is focused on helping injured victims who have been hurt as a result of an automobile accident. We have attorneys who specialize in this area.
  • We also have attorneys who specialize in all types of family law matters, including, divorce, custody, adoptions, post judgment matters, prosecution and defense on modification of child support and visitation cases.
  • We handle criminal defense of both misdemeanors and felonies, including drug cases, driving while under the influence, theft, assaults and other charges.
  • We handle probate matters, such as decedent's estates, conservatorship and guardianships.
  • We also handle property disputes and insurance matters.

What kind of attorney's fees and costs can I expect with Spindler & Stern?
  • Personal injuries or property damage cases arising from automobile accidents, wrongful death claims, or cases based upon negligence, malpractice or defective products are generally handled on a contingency basis where the attorney would receive one-third (1/3) of all monies collected after costs are paid. In personal injury cases, we are not paid unless you collect.
  • In civil, non-injury matters, such as family law, business litigation, probate, conservatorship, guardianship, or landlord/tenant matters, all attorney's fees are based on an hourly rate which will be quoted through your individual inquiry with our office.
  • In criminal cases, we generally represent our clients on a flat fee basis and these fees are based upon the number of charges, the seriousness of the charge(s) and the expected time necessary to handle the case.
  • Clients are generally expected to pay the costs, including court costs, filing fees, expert witness fees, appraisal costs, deposition costs and court reporter fees, which may be associated with his/her case, as they accrue.

When should I contact a lawyer?
  • The sooner you hire a lawyer to assist with your case, the better that lawyer may be able to serve you.
  • You should probably speak with an attorney before discussing your case with a claims representative, with the prosecutor, or with any material witness. If you are dealing with any insurance company, rest assured that the company is backed by a team of attorneys. Please be aware that in Michigan, if you are injured as the result of another person's negligence, there is a time limit called a statute of limitations that applies to every case.
